Our Review

The Hot Buttered Elves' 2012: Planet X-Mas affected me at a visceral level. I am fond of layered, spoken word, experimental music in any event. But while their 2008 release left me a bit cold, I experienced 2012 as a fun, lighthearted treat.

I liked all of the spacy, futuristic ambience and the the lightness of the tunes. Not to say that it didn't have a few of its own dark places, but it was a lighthearted darkness, suggestive of a future world with possibilities, not some dystopia where all is lost. Solstice 2012, in particular, was downright uplifting. Certainly something your spiritguide would (and does) recommend for adventurous holiday listeners.
