Our Review
Acousticsol's All Aglow is smooth jazz specifically designed to have just that effect on its listeners. These warm and well-executed gentle jazz interpretations of Christmas classics would provide the perfect backdrop for that intimate holiday gathering.
With the exception of Chris Ward's superb vocal on White Christmas, the tracks are all instrumentals, with mostly five or six players. The sound is largely driven by guitars, synths, piano, and percussion, and the mellow result is sweet and satisfying. My favorite tracks came at the end, with Rossy Nyberg's contemplative Prelude leading to a strings-only (guitars, bass, dobro) Silent Night that is pure, simple, and radiant. An excellent close that left me All Aglow.

Acousticsol offers their first album of holiday standards. Producer/guitarist Ross Nyberg, joined by Kenny G's long time guitarist John Raymond, has created a festive Christmas collection with a smooth jazz touch . . . " All Aglow." Acoustic guitars are the primary instruments on this CD, with gentle percussion, piano, sax, and keyboard accompaniment.
