If you're looking for the that easy listening pop sound, From My Home to Yours, Kim Beaney's Christmas Favorites may have just what you've been looking for. Ms. Beaney's warm, girl-next-door vocals recall a simpler, more innocent time; she is at home in her element, and runs down an impressive list of 20th century American pop anthems. Most of them are well-known, and several seem romantic in a feminine way: her homage to Karen Carpenter on Merry Christmas, Darling is the best case in point. And although I am not always moved by this particular school of romantic pop, it is a fact that I enjoyed Kim Beaney's presentation.

Among the highlights were two duets, the first with Pat Jacobs on Silver Bells and later with Heather Richardson on Tennessee Christmas. This song was my favorite of the set, possibly because my tastes run to country these days. Ms. Beaney's band provides effective backing in jazz, pop, country, and R&B styles.

Kim Beaney's wholesome brand of holiday fun is appropriate for all ages and could be just the thing to pick up your spirit this season.
