Our Review

I enjoyed the almost traditional sound of the Brothers Cazimero's Christmas Favorites. It captures the familiar flavor of Hawaiian pop. But intermixed at times with this easygoing sound is a new age sensibility reminiscent of Ottmar Liebert.

What is most striking about the sound is the unusual rhythm structure used in some of the sacred carols, particularly Angels We Have Heard on High. The pleasant folk cadence was quite appealing here, as well as on their laid-back rendition of Adeste Fideles.

The Cazimero's Christmas Favorites is a re-issue combining two of the brothers' prior Christmas releases. Delightfully unassuming, it includes some of the best elements of Hawaiian, folk and new age.
