Our Review
If you like keyboards, you're in for a treat. Chip Mergott literally pulls out all the stops, playing organ, piano, and probably half a dozen electronic instruments I couldn't even name. His instrumental renditions are stately and sedate, at times almost meditative, though he can also be playful, such as with his clever, toe-tapping arrangement of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. The selections assembled on O Holy Night are primarily from the sacred side of the holiday catalog, giving the entire affair a "traditional" quality. So, if keyboard instrumentalists are your forte, then Chip Mergott's O Holy Night might be just what you are looking to hear this holiday season.

From the artist Web site:
Chip Mergott has been a performing songwriter for most of his adult life. In the mid-seventies he was a member of the popular Central Jersey soft rock group ?Bittersweet? who went on to have several hits on RCA RECORDS as ?Baillie and the Boys,? and by 1978 he was signed as a solo artist to London Records (and as a writer to their publishing branch, Burlington music.) He was also ?discovered? around this time by Bonnie Raitt who has described him as ?one of my favorite songwriters.?
