Can you name all of the stoner reindeer? I didn't think so. But if you were listening to Jet Baker's giggle-inspiring Marijuana Christmas you could. There are many kinds of holiday fun; Baker is rapping about one of the more popular, though you couldn't tell it from the number of weed-inspired releases I've reviewed in the past ten years. Including this one, the number now stands at one.

But what a one! This is a rap record, and who doesn't love rap music? (Ha!) I suppose this could also be considered gangsta rap, though I hear more people are growing their own than ever before. So, there isn't necessarily any reason for right-thinking Americans to be helping gangsters and terrorists, even should they choose to partake. But I digress.

There some clever lyrics here, and some accessible beats, even for the rap-challenged. But--and I suppose the subject matter could be involved--this is mellow, mellow rap. Hippie hop. All the bases seem to have been covered: head toys, the munchies, chronic behaviors of all sorts. This is a comprehensive treatment of the stoner holiday spirit. Even Hannukah gets ripped.

Marijuana Christmas is so much fun, it is probably illegal to enjoy it. But it's like they say: when fun is outlawed, only outlaws will have fun.
