Our Review
Discomfort and Joy, the latest release by The Jingle Punx, is quite a bit rougher and more DIY than their previous CDs, but that's what one would expect from a live performance by punk rock band. Their sound still exhibits the high-energy, amphetamine-tempo authenticity of earlier efforts.
At 33 tracks this might be the most extensive paean to the holiday season I will hear this year (and thank goodness: I'm getting too old for this sh*t, anyway). Tracks 8-33 were recorded live, with a lot of friendly banter between the band and their audience. Also, I don't remember hearing anything disrespectful or profane in the entire live set, which is (obviously) a plus for a Christmas record and cements their image in mind as a very classy punk rock band.
