Our Review
A little jazzy, a little bluesy, Christmas Wish is a wistful but ultimately upbeat ode to an absent lover. As someone who feels (and, to a certain extent, loves) the holiday melancholy almost as much as the enforced festiveness of the American Christmas season, I always appreciate a song that speaks to that other side of the holidays. I hadn't heard Ms. Lauren, and I quickly came to appreciate her vocal clarity and jazz presence. This is one I hope would show up on a Christmas compilation and garner some air play as the years go by.
