Best suited for radio, on such programs as The Bob & Tom Show, aNote4You presents Holiday Heckles, Musical Greetings, a set of 22 holiday comedy vignettes. Although a few are hillybilly-themed (Shotgun For Christmas), most are ostensibly Jewish, some with overt references to Hanukkah. And this is a good thing, at least for us, because it can be a nightmare getting enough Hannukah product each year to make the case that we include it on the site.

This is an interesting effort, if only for its obvious contrasts. The material is decidedly retro: you might have heard most of these bits 30 years ago. On the other hand, the product arrived in the most up-to-date packaging we've received this year: a CD, but featuring a data track containing mp3 versions of all 22 songs. Although the themes are intentionally tasteless (e.g., Road Kill Santa), there is not a hint of profanity or indecency in evidence, so these are well-designed for radio play during wartime.

A few are even clever. I believe I liked the Jewish ones best, because they seem more authentic. I mean, some of the writers or the players might be Jewish (the liner notes leave no clues), but I doubt any are hillbilly rednecks.

A decidedly odd offering of interest primarily to holiday completists, we are happy to show it here.
