Our Review

I could listen to peaceful holiday lullabies early on a sleepy Sunday morning until I drift back off to sleep. But that wouldn't get the site ready for its big Thanksgiving grand opening. So, I will struggle through this--under protest--because there's work to do. But those O'Neill brothers aren't kidding about their slogan "relaxing piano music". Their approach here seems to be to mash up Christmas carols with children's lullabies, the arrangements appearing to be clever improvisations over the combined themes. It is a splendid approach as the two songbooks mesh rather well together. My favorite was We Wish You A Merry Muffin Man. Or maybe I just like saying "We wish you a merry muffin man!" because all of these mashups were lovable, each in its own way. In any event, Christmas Lullabies is a strong contender for inclusion in childrens' music libraries this season, as its novel quietude will put even the most hard-core baby right to sleep!
