Our Review
The Braintree walks again. Two years ago, Todd Keenhold and Alan Stewart, Braintree, left Amid the Winter Snow on my doorstep, a peaceful reminder that not all is hustle and bustle. Last week, I got the announcement their second installment was on the way.
Though not groundbreaking, Wintertidings is a fitting and fit continuation of the their first winter offering. Meant to break the hold of the stressful season, Wintertidings' is an airy glide through several holiday favorites, with a couple of new Stewart and Keenhold compositions besides. Fessiwig's Waltz is one of these. Inoffensive chamber music--Braintree's signature style--it has a nice melody and features some interesting Keenhold riffing. O Sanctissimia rings like a protestant hymn and should delight new agers.
All in all, easy to listen to during those long New England nights.
